I am not a voyeur.

Ok. On one hand I understand why the 35mm – 50mm focal lengths are so important to photography. They apparently allow one to see the world as the “eye” sees it.

Therein, for me, lies the problem from the beginning. I have an extensive art background. I know no artist that “sees” with just one eye. Additionally, I always had a problem with those so called “normal” focal lengths. They don’t capture the world, or allow me to see it, as I do. A wider lens, preferably, comfortably, at least 28mm, always seemed normal to me. Close, but not quite, as two eyes would see the world. I like to get close to things. I want to “feel” the thing or person I capture. Feel their breath. Almost taste their smell.

I am not a voyeur.

This photo thing is life. I am alive. I am a participant.
