A Wink?

_R009479

I see this man most everyday. I pass him by at the beginning of my lunch walks and he is unfaltering in his station, handing out Subway coupons in all types of weather. He is one of many, seemingly living on the outside looking in. But I don’t really know that. He does wear the same clothes everyday. One can speculate a story. Even though I don’t eat at Subway, I take one of his fliers. We just nod in recognition. I think he knows.

  1. This is both sad and wonderful at the same time. Article in my local newspaper today about a group on FB, posting pictures of homeless people and people in general who, I would guess, make them ‘uncomfortable.’ What have we come to? I’m glad you two see each other so often; I hope that makes him smile. Excellent photo, Keith.

  2. Ima choose to assume that Subway – despite having used a child pornographer for a spokesman – is rewarding this gentleman. And I also assume he feels a sense of dignity because he is actually working for what ever they give him.
In reality, he is just as content as half the people that he meets every day.
