Early one Sunday morning, I was walking my son to a playground to meet up with a friend of his. On our way we saw this man, a whirling dervish, going about his trance-like spin. My wife and I had the opportunity to see a performance when we were in Istanbul in 2008. This man was the real deal. We watched and waited until he slowly spun down and came out of his trance.
