Hip Update

Advertisements

My hip recovery has been progressing fine. I am in my third full week of physical therapy. The only thing that has been holding me back, is that I was diagnosed with arthritis in my left knee. This explains the knee pain I woke up with a week before my surgery. I did mention it to my surgeon before my surgery. I received a cortisone injection for it at my hip post op last week. It has helped. It allows me to walk fairly unimpeded and even ride my bike, which I did this past weekend. Pathetically I must must add. I’ll have to deal with the knee at later date. I’ll also receive PT for it as well. We have a family holiday planned for October and I do not want anything to get in the way. All this just raises my anxiety level knowing that I still have things to do, surgical procedures, before I return to full physical function. Too much to think about causing loss of sleep. This could all take take weeks if not months. I also still require a couple of procedures for POUR, post urinary retention. I might not be able to have any more surgery until this has been dealt with. I am not looking forward to this at all.
