I’m not sure what the unknown looks like. I would love to see what the future brings. My daily routine is shattered. Taken away. Everything, while so familiar, is so unfamiliar. It is not like I haven’t been here before, but being older, I face the unknown not just with experience, but fear, lacking the physical strength of youth.
At night, it can frightening. I wake up and face darkness with no safety. I’m floating. No ground. I reach out knowing my family is close. I am facing openness, new possibilities.
I search for the light.
