I just want to hug this woman and sweep the sadness from her face.
The models on the promo in the background present such an emotional contrast to the main focus of your photo.
I was walking my son home from school the other day. He’s nine. He goes,”Dad, why don’t people smile. Everyone walks around looking angry.”
What an insightful boy, your son. I expect he’s empathetic, caring and compassionate.
How did you answer his question?
He is very empathetic, caring, and compassionate. We had an interesting discussion about the stresses and responsibilities of being an adult. Especially an adult that supports family. He is also politically aware and can understand that government policies can affect people. He goes to a very progressive, dual language school, where he, being white, is a minority. The beauty of this school, and with the kids themselves, race does matter, but personal integrity does.
