I love photographing in Chinatown. So much color. It is the one place left in Manhattan that still feels like old New York. But unfortunately, it is slowly disappearing. A toy store that I used to visit when I was a small boy is closing this weekend after 66 years! It was one of Ethan’s favorite places as well. Nicole and I walked by the other day and the owner saw us and called us in and gave us the news. She then proceed to fill up a bag with some of Ethan’s favorite things to give him. We were so saddened to hear this news. The store is on the corner of Bayard and Doyers Street. Site of the famous “Bloody Angle”. Known for bloody Chinese gang fights over a hundred years ago.
Such a jolt of color in the monochromatic world of winter. Love this contrast, Keith.
