Oh, Keith, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a photo that makes me feel so profoundly sad. He is someone’s son, maybe brother, friend… My heart breaks. Will anyone help him?
Scenes like this were very prevalent during the Reagan years. This man was living in his community, but in desperate need of assistance. I had this posted under the image on Instagram –
You can’t speak of unity when you constantly deride politicians of the opposite party.
You can’t speak of unity when you cosy up to despotic leaders of other countries who kill their own people for protesting against your policies.
You can’t speak of unity when you say there were “good people on both sides” and ignore that an innocent woman was killed by one of those “good people”.
You can’t speak of unity when you give tax cuts to the top 1%, while ignoring the needs of the other 99%
You can’t speak of unity when members of your cabinet have been indicted for collusion with a foreign power and fraud.
You can’t speak of unity when you promise to keep jobs in America while having your own products being made in China.
