  1. Nice composition here 😁😁. The wide shot, brick pattern, caught my eye right away.

    I also noticed the ‘metal star’ embedded in the building. Common in Charleston but don’t remember any in NYC. It’s an earthquake brace to stabilize bricks when the building moves. In 1886 we had one of the largest earthquake recorded in the US. Damage was huge, and the braces were placed in most buildings after that.

    1. Actually, this is one of the oldest brick buildings in NYC. It has an interesting history. Those stars are for the end of the rods that run through the building to stabilize it. Very common in old NYC buildings.

      1. Here too. They were never used until 1886 here. Then the biggest earthquake in US history hit Charleston. Actually started about 10 miles from where I’m writing this. The coast of South Carolina is a major fault line, I actually keep earthquake insurance. There were about 7 small ones just last week. 😵‍💫. They didn’t put that in the brochure !!
