Keith–this is great! “Little pieces that make the photo pop.” I did look at Rosario’s work being Sid and Mac seemed to be comparing your work to his. Totally unbiased, but I think your work in B&W has so much more impact of the city than his photos in color. Just not there for me. Congrats on the kudo–this is wonderful.
Antonio is a good friend of mine. We’ve known each other for 30 years now. He only started shooting like this just a couple of years or so ago. Primarily he shot stock and did work for the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. I think we are after very different things within our work.
I’ve been photographing the way I have for over 40 years. Things do change over that amount of time. I’ve always been very dedicated to keeping it going throughout my life, no matter what has been going on. I hope and try within this, to convey some emotional impact to the viewer. I did like what they said that you have to spend some time with my work or you might miss what I am getting to. I think that is one of the reasons I don’t like Instagram much. People look for visual impact in those small thumbnails. Most don’t stop and click on the images to really look.
Thanks so much as always Lois!
