I’m not at all familiar with NYC. I’ve only been there once, many decades ago while in college. Is this a common sight? And where is this man sleeping?
I like the perspective of this image. It’s unique and memorable.
Thanks. Familiar? Unfortunately yes. It was extremely worse when Reagan was president. In that era, homeless, the mentally ill, were abundantly unavoidably everywhere. Selling stuff on the street, etc.. This man has made a place for himself within a phone booth shelter, right next to a newspaper kiosk. It is under building scaffolding at the moment, so he is somewhat protected from the elements. I was in Portland, OR two summers ago. They have quite a homeless problem there as well.
I’m sorry. I’m a bit sheltered from it all here in rural Minnesota.
