This series began before I had double eye surgery for cataracts. I have always had bad eyesight, being born with high myopia. It never stopped me from doing anything I’ve wanted. Glasses always made me feel as if there was a wall between myself and the rest of the world. Contact lenses helped relieve this feeling. As I aged, I developed cataracts and glaucoma. While it never affected me doing photography, there were times I wondered what the world looked liked if I allowed it to control what I saw, photographing as I allowed the haze and cloudiness to take over. Surgery was needed for cataracts and successful. I now have 20/20 vision. In the process, I began to explore the interior/exterior illusion of the world around me.
For the last four years my glaucoma was being wkept under control by eye drops and a pill. Unfortunately, over the last year, my eye pressure has been creeping steadily upwards. Wish me luck, as you are looking at this post today, I will undergo the first of two surgeries for glaucoma.
As per my surgeon’s instructions, there will be no computer time for at least two to three days.

Good luck. I have also had terrible eyesight most of my life which makes photography that much more precious. Looking forward to the new vision!

I’ve been using drops morning and night for several years now, with the intent of holding off a potential for glaucoma. Best wishes for the procedures and for the results!
Thanks David. Unfortunately, the drops worked for so long. Surgery was successful. Pressure dropped significantly. Just blurry, cloudy vision for a few days.
